I’m all about Black folks normalizing luxury, so when BET announced the upcoming limited series Carl Weber’s The Black Hamptons, I was all in.
Premiering this summer and starring Vanessa Bell Calloway, Lamman Rucker, Elise Neal and Brian White, the family drama is set to take viewers inside the fictional torrid lives of two Black affluent families (Johnsons and Brittons) of Sag Harbor in Long Island, NY.
From luxury communities to historic beachfront enclaves, this epic story will follow these affluent Black families where the difference between old and new money is very apparent. With a mix of legacy families thriving for generations, friends, wannabes, and thirsty developers, drama can never be too far behind.
Based on a novel by Carl Weber, who also serves as executive producer. Nikaya D. Brown Jones for Tri Destined Studios will also executive produce. Trey Haley will serve as director and co-executive producer for Tri Destined Studios. Grammy award-winning producer Rico Love serves as music supervisor.
