Dana Owens aka Queen Latifah is gearing up to change the narrative around the word “obesity” when she kicks off her 3 city tour.
Last week the award winning actress announced the “It’s Bigger Than Me” live tour where she and some of her friends will get together in front of a LIVE audience to change the way we talk about obesity.
We need to talk and think about obesity in a different way – with kind hearts and an open, supportive attitude.
The Equalizer star is joining forces with pharmaceutical brand Novo Nordisk to bring the tour to three major cities, including New York City, Houston, and Los Angeles, each with a unique primary focus: mind, body, society. Through each live event, Latifah wants to inspire thoughtful conversations, address the shame and depression that prevents people living with obesity to seek help, and open the floor for personal stories, questions, and voices to be heard.
I’ve experienced being judged by others because of my weight. I know the negative effect it can have on you, but I never let that stop me — and neither should you.
