Chance The Rapper and Kristen Corley Bennett walked the red carpet at the 2021 MET Gala on Monday night.
The Chicago rapper and his bride both wore Ralph Lauren to the event sticking with the theme: In America: The Lexicon of Fashion.
Chance paid homage to his hometown of Chicago and hip hop culture from the 1990s for his Met Gala look.
It’s obviously inspired by the Stadium collection from the ’90s. It had a little hip-hop feel, a little Chicago feel.
His relationship with Ralph Lauren runs deep. For his third mixtape, Coloring Book, Chance wore an RRL T-shirt on the cover. He’s attended many of the brand’s fashion shows, helped design a Bitmoji collection, held several concerts at RL stores, and even got married in tux by the label.
In true Chance fashion, he dedicated his Met Gala look to Rasheed Walker aka Jose Hustle, a Nashville community organizer and teacher who was shot and killed last year during a senseless shooting.
The rapper also dedicated the night to Young Dro, Kanye West and “and all the other Lo Heads.”
We can’t sleep on Kristen in this sleek black Ralph Lauren dress either. Girlfriend is serving!!!
The Bennett’s understood the assignment!
