Gospel music superstar Tamela Mann on Wendy Williams show last week sharing gems on staying married for 34 years and her upcoming role in the Color Purple musical.

Guest co-host Sherri Shepherd asked the singer/actress for the secret to her 34 year marriage to husband David and Tamela credited them being friends first.

We started out as friends. He’s my friend and I like him and I’m still in love with him.

On Oprah personally requesting her to play First Lady in the upcoming The Color Purple musical.

Revealing that husband David gave her the news she responded,

You’re kidding me! Oprah sent for me? Little ole me?” It was such a blessing.”

She went on to reveal that not only will she be singing in the musical but she will be dancing too.
