The upcoming Shirley Chisholm film Shirley starring Regina King has landed at Netflix and one of my favorite actors Terrence Howard has joined the cast.
The feature from Participant and Regina King’s Royal Ties Productions, tells the story of the trailblazing political icon —the first Black Congresswoman and the first Black woman to run for President of the U.S. It will draw on exclusive and extensive conversations with her family and friends, following her historic presidential campaign.
There will also be an impact campaign tied to the film spearheaded by Participant, as part of its ongoing commitment to advancing civic engagement and social justice.
Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges André Holland, Christina Jackson, Michael Cherrie, Dorian Missick, Amirah Vann, W. Earl Brown and newcomer Ethan Jones have also joined the cast.
No word yet on the characters they will play yet or when the film will premiere.
