Jennifer Hudson wins big At NAACP Image Awards
Jennifer Hudson nabbed two NAACP Image Awards for her role as the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin in RESPECT.
The singer/actress also took the marquee Entertainer of the Year award. Go JHud!
“Wow !!! All I can say is thank u God and thank u @naacpimageawards for these awards ! I’m beyond humbled and grateful for this honor. I also have to thank my amazing @respectmovie family ! These are for u, Ms. Franklin,” she wrote on social media.
Hudson was handpicked by Franklin to play this role, as well as executive produce. The film was written by Tracey Scott Wilson and also stars Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, and Mary J. Blige. She also starred in the Anthony Mandler film, “Monster” on Netflix alongside Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jeffrey Wright, and A$AP Rocky.
Next up for J-Hud is an untitled Christmas musical comedy at New Line that she set to executive produce and star in.
