Fantasia accepted the NAACP Image Awards’ Best Actress award for her role as Celie in The Color Purple by giving God the Glory!

Fantasia also acknowledged her late grandmother and mother whom both showed her how to keep God first.

My mother was a woman that went through a lot of things, but I saw her, after everything she went through, walk out as a queen. With a smile on her face, she always kept God first, and I will continue to do the same.
