Beyoncé performing “Be Alive” at the Oscars
Beyoncé will reportedly perform her single “Be Alive” from a Compton tennis court during the 2022 Oscars.
The inspirational song from the King Richard soundtrack is up for best original song during this years ceremony.
King Richard is about the rise of iconic sisters Venus and Serena Williams (who happens to be friends with Bey) who are from Compton. They were introduced to the world stage by following their father’s 78-page plan.
The tennis courts are where the sports legends practiced relentless drills in their youth under the watchful eye of their father, Richard. Lueders Park courts in Los Angeles were officially rebranded as the Venus and Serena Williams Court of Champion in 2016.
According to multiple reports Beyoncé’s camp has been in deep talks with producers to mount a satellite performance of the song — one that would possibly open the show, and broadcast live from tennis courts in Compton, Calif. The concept began solidifying last Monday, three individuals with knowledge of the talks said.
If Bey pull this off it will be a powerful moment in TV.. and for it to happened during Women’s History Month will be one for the history books!
The 2022 Academy Awards will air this Sunday, March 27, on ABC.
