On Sunday January 15th, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. announced that Gospel singer Erica Campbell, Olympic track star Allyson Felix, legendary singer Patti Labelle and U.S. Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester have been named honorary members of the illustrious organization.
The Greek organization released a press release making the announcement on Founders Day.
“This highest honor bestowed by the sorority allows the members the privilege of participating in all activities connected to the sorority including speaking privileges,” the sorority stated in it’s press release.
“The honorary members exemplify the core values of AKA through their extraordinary achievements and God-given talents,” International President & CEO Danette Anthony Reed stated.
