Tamela Mann Makes History As First Gospel Artist With Nine No. 1 Singles
Award winning Gospel artist Tamela Mann just took out Kirk Franklin to become the first Gospel artist with nine no.1 singles on Billboard Gospel Airplay charts.
Mann did it with her latest hit single “He Did It for Me” as it ascends to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Gospel Airplay chart dated May 21st.
Now with nine No. 1s, Mann claims the most leaders on Gospel Airplay, which began in March 2005, all to herself, as she breaks out of a tie with Kirk Franklin. James Fortune & FIYA follow with seven No. 1s, while Jekalyn Carr, Todd Dulaney, Travis Greene, Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago, Donald Lawrence, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Marvin Sapp each have five.
She is also set to release an Overcomer deluxe edition on streaming platforms July 22nd.
According to a press release, the deluxe album will feature new songs as well as new renditions of of fan favorites from the original album.
Special guest features include the breathtaking ballad “Superheroes Prayer” with Yolanda Adams, the uplifting and joyous “Hello God” with Wyclef Jean and Kirk Franklin, the powerful track “Finished Work” with Todd Dulaney, and stunning new live renditions of “Help Me” with Tim Rogers and The Fellas, and “Finished,” which is written by Travis Greene.
