Review: Channing Tatum’s DOG Movie
I’m not a dog person, but I fell in love with Channing Tatum’s new movie DOG.
I’ll never be your beast of burden
First of all what’s not to love about Channing Tatum and then put a dog beside him on a road trip to a funeral and you have the perfect movie full of laughter and connection.
The movie is classified as a comedy and yes its filled with lots of laughter, but it also has the soft human side. In the film Tatum portrays an Army Ranger named Briggs who is fighting physically and mentally to get back in the game. To see if he’s ready he’s challenged with taking a fellow soldiers dog to his funeral. He accepts the challenge not knowing that the animal is just as messed up mentally as he is. He’s overly aggressive and hasn’t played well with humankind for awhile, he’s been locked up and muzzled….. until this road trip that through many challenges causes both of them to let their guards down and open up to the possibility of connecting with one another….and that’s what made my heart melt, because at the end of the day that’s what life is all about.
From MGM, the movie also stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Ethan Suplee, Jane Adams, Kevin Nash, Luke Forbes, Nicole LaLiberté, Q’orianka Kilcher, and Ronnie Gene Blevins.
Catch DOG starring Channing Tatum in theaters this Friday, Feb. 18th.
