Oprah and some of the cast of The Color Purple movie musical presented a sneak peek of their film at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday. The footage, which has not been released offered a new tagline…. “Not your momma’s Color Purple.”
The musical reimagining takes inspiration from the 2005 Broadway musical based on Alice Walker’s classic novel, and stars Fantasia, Taraji P. Henson, Colman Domingo, Danielle Brooks, Corey Hawkins, Ciara, Halle Bailey, and H.E.R.
Fantasia who plays Celie shared about the upcoming film, “You’re gonna laugh, you’re gonna cry, everybody brings it. But in the end, you’ll be healed. Because guess what? I was healed.”
The Color Purple, which Oprah calls a celebration of sisterhood releases in theaters on Christmas Day!
