Later this year Sony Pictures is releasing the official movie musical based on the late Whitney Houston’s life starring Naomi Ackie as Whitney Houston.
Due out December 21st, I Wanna Dance With Somebody Is directed by Kasi Lemmons (Remember she brought us Harriet).
I Wanna Dance With Somebody is based on the epic life and music of the iconic singer. The film is written by Academy Award® Nominee Anthony McCarten. The film will take audiences on an emotional, energetic journey through Whitney’s career and music.
Ashton Sanders – who is best known for his role in Oscar-winning film Moonlight – will play Bobby Brown.
Clive Davis and Pat Houston also serve as producers on the film.
Ackie is a BAFTA-winning actress’ whose previous credits include “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker,” “Master of None” and “The End of the F***ing World.”
I’ll definitely be at the theaters watching!
