Kerry Washington Pays Homage to Black Women TV Lawyers
My forever Olivia Pope and Reasonable Doubt director, Kerry Washington has partnered with The Black Lawyers Podcast to create inspirational personalized sweatshirts in honor of her on-screen lawyer sisters as promotion for her new and oh so good legal drama, Reasonable Doubt, on Hulu.
Honoring Black women who portrayed lawyers on TV, Kerry took to her Instagram wearing a sweatshirt with the names “Clair, Joan, Maxine, Jessica, Olivia, Annalise, Molly and Jax” written out in a list of white, block letters.
Kerry wore the sweatshirt to help inspire more Black women to pursue their law degrees.
“This shirt was inspired by a design made by @TheBlackLawyersPodcast,” Washington shared via Instagram. “Less than 2.5% of Lawyers are Black women but they are working to change that!”
