All eyes were on Halle Bailey last night as she walked the blue carpet for the L.A. premiere of Disney’s Little Mermaid live-action movie.
The actress who portrays Ariel in the highly anticipated film, wore a sculptural gown by Valdrin Sahiti made of irridescent fabrics. The fitted skirt called to mind Ariel’s shimmering tail, while the corseted bodice and shell-like bra were playful riffs on her character’s look.
In a cover story for Ebony, Halle revealed that playing Ariel, ‘…is all a part of God’s plan for me.’
If you want to see Bailey’s performance as the iconic Disney Princess, 2023’s The Little Mermaid will be released in theaters on May 26th.
