Former President Jimmy Carter to receive Hospice Care
The Carter Center has announced that former President Jimmy Carter has decided against any further medical treatment and has entered home hospice care.
“After a series of short hospital stays, former US President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention. He has the full support of his family and his medical team,” the statement said.
In his post-presidency years, President Carter founded The Carter Center along with his wife, Rosalynn, in hopes of advancing world peace and health.
He beat brain cancer in 2015 and then underwent surgery in 2019 to remove pressure on his brain. Carter, who is a devout Christian taught Sunday school at Maranatha Baptist Church in his hometown of Plains, Georgia before his health issues forced him to stop.

Carter, who is the longest living President in U.S. History turned 98 last year.
