Dennis Quaid launches Bonniedale: 1st Feature Life of Charley Pride
Actor Dennis Quaid is broadening his platform to help continue his focus on producing meaningful films.
The critically acclaimed actor has launched his new production company, Bonniedale, and unveiled the company’s first feature film, American Pride, focusing on the life of the late Charley Pride. The biopic, directed and produced by American director Craig Brewer, reflects the company’s mission to ‘focus on aspirational and inspiring stories of real people and real life’. The Footloose star commented
As an actor, I have always gravitated toward roles of the underdog – the person who achieves great things against even greater odds. We love to cheer for the fighter, the underdog, the hopeful dreamer. In many ways, this is my own life. That’s why I’m excited to turn my attention to Bonniedale, where we will find and drive stories that are meaningful and that matter.
In the forthcoming Charley Pride film, Quaid will portray Pride’s friend “Cowboy” Jack Clement. Clement and Pride wrote and recorded many of his breakthrough songs. Clement also mentored Quaid in his own music career.
