Alfred Street Baptist Church hosting 8 private viewings of Wakanda Forever
Once again Alfred Street Baptist Church (ASBC) is engaging the culture.
We are proud to support this film in honor of the late Chadwick Boseman, who himself is and was a superhero to Black culture, said Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley, ASBC senior pastor.
ASBC has acquired eight (8) theaters at the IPIC Theater in North Bethesda, Maryland for a members-only private viewing of Marvel Studios Black Panther: Wakanda Forever tonight (Friday) from 6pm – 7pm. The seats sold out on the first day they were offered to members.
In a recorded ASBC “Faith and Film” event, the Rev. Dr. Judy Fentress-Williams interviewed ASBC member Jesse Holland, Jr., author of Black Panther: Who is the Black Panther? who provided members with a history of Black Panther and taste of what they might expect in this highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 film Black Panther.
“Black Panther is art opening doors to help people imagine themselves in new ways,” said Fentress-Williams.
